Lucineer ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and shared when you use the Lucineer mobile application (the "App") and related websites.
1. Summary
- Lucineer is a local-first writing app. Your stories and drafts are stored on your device.
- We do not require an account to use the App (v1).
- The App may request permission to access the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) for advertising and analytics through our ad partners, including ironSource (Unity LevelPlay), when enabled in a future update.
- Catalog inspiration data is fetched from licensed third-party story catalog providers; we do not upload your writing to those providers.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- User-generated content: Titles, beats, characters, clues, phase scripts, pinned elements, and other text you enter in the App.
- Support communications: If you email us, we receive the content of your message and your email address.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and app data: Device model, OS version, app version, language, and general diagnostic data needed to operate and improve the App.
- Advertising identifier (IDFA): On iOS, if you grant permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, we and our advertising partners may collect your IDFA to deliver personalized ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. If you deny permission, we will not access IDFA for tracking purposes.
- Advertising and analytics partners: When ironSource (or other listed partners) is integrated, they may collect device identifiers, IP address, ad interaction data, and similar technical data subject to their own policies. See Section 5.
About IDFA & App Tracking Transparency
Apple requires apps to ask for your consent before tracking you across other companies' apps and websites. Lucineer will show the system ATT dialog before using IDFA for personalized advertising. You can change your choice anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
2.3 Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, postal address, or payment information in the App (v1).
- We do not upload your drafts or exported manuscripts to our servers by default.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App and writing features
- Auto-save and restore your projects on your device
- Respond to support requests
- Display non-personalized or personalized ads (where permitted and when ad SDKs are enabled)
- Measure advertising effectiveness and prevent invalid activity
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Local Storage
Projects, drafts, and preferences are stored locally in the App's sandbox on your device using iOS storage APIs. Deleting the App removes locally stored project files unless you have backed them up elsewhere through export features.
5. Third-Party Services
The App may use the following categories of third-party services:
- Story catalog provider: To show genres, synopses, cover art, and inspiration metadata. Requests are read-only. Your writing content is not sent to the catalog provider.
- ironSource (Unity LevelPlay) — planned: Advertising mediation and monetization. ironSource may process device identifiers (including IDFA where permitted), IP address, and ad event data. Privacy policy: ironSource Privacy Policy
- Apple frameworks: Including StoreKit, Mail, and system share sheets as invoked by you.
We encourage you to review partner privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party practices outside our control.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal writing content. We may share limited technical data with service providers who assist us under contract, and when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
7. Your Choices
- Tracking: Manage ATT consent in iOS Settings.
- Advertising: Limit ad tracking via Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
- Data deletion: Delete individual projects in the App or uninstall the App to remove local data.
- Support opt-out: You may stop emailing us at any time.
8. Children's Privacy
Lucineer is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Users
Lucineer is offered primarily on the US App Store. If you use the App from other regions, your information may be processed in the United States or where our service providers operate.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the data we process. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, where required, provide additional notice in the App.
